Duct Work Armor

One day, I was cleaning my house, energized for the deep cleaning.  While vacuuming, I took the radiator vent cover off and I was horrified to find a “hair monster’ hovering down below.  Yikes!  This monster was an accumulation of hair, kibble, bits of plastic toys and such.  I checked the furnace filter, it was covered in fur as well.   Gross.  I started to think, if all of this is in my furnace system, everytime it turns on, all of this debris gets blown back in to the air.  There must be a way to prevent all of this from getting into the duct work system to begin with.

I searched the market, and found some filters to put in the furnace vents, however, any pet owner would know, these would get clogged up with fur so quickly, you wouldn’t be able to get any air circulating.  So, I developed the Duct Work Armor.  It is a magnetic sheet that clings to the radiator vent, with small holes that prevents the pet hair, jewelery, food, toys, and other miscelanious items from entering the duct work system.  It can be cut to size, painted to match your rooms decor, and it is easy to wipe clean.  So, no more “monsters” living in the duct work system or “sweaters’ on your furnace filters.

Currently, there are two sizes 11″x 5′ and 13″x5″.  Again, they can  be cut to size, or fit together to cover a larger vent.  Easy to order, on line or call.  (312) 342-3626.

You help create products too

One of the things that I love about what I do is the fact that every one of my clients can be a co-designer.

When I make something that people recognize as unique, it feels great. The first time I took my new Suz Armor bath wrapper as a gift to a friend’s baby shower, everyone there fell in love with it.

They loved the way it covered their whole upper body. It’s not like some of the bath aprons on the market that are just like cooking aprons. What good does it do to leave your chest and upper arms exposed to all that splashing water, or to pick up a dripping wet baby and cuddle them there unless you have gobs and gobs of thirsty terrycloth there to enfold your baby…and keep you dry?  Oh, and let’s not forget our four legged friends too.  Just because they need a bath, doesn’t mean you need one too.

The problem was, no one could agree on what they wanted it to look like. Some people suggested I use the traditional pastel blue, pink, etc. Others wanted to see it backed in a ginham check in green or yellow, and so on.

So, I decided I would ask you what you want, and make each one especially for you. For now, there is no set price on the Sudz Armor because a lot of that will be determined by your choice of fabric.  Prices do start at $15.95 and go up from there.

Even if you’re not ready to place your order right now, please email me at info@bigsprig.com with your ideas of what you’d like to see available to buy when you are ready.

That way, you can help turn this sprig of an idea into the kind of product any Mom would love to have.

Where do you get your ideas?

I hear that question all the time.  The answer is… “it would be easier if…”

As  healthcare professional, I work with people who’s health challenges mean they can no longer do things they used to do without thinking. An elderly man who’s flexibility isn’t what it used to be has trouble reaching things and as I watch him try, I’m thinking …it would be easier if…

As an dog lover and pet rescue worker, my pets are part of my family. Sometimes that family gets way too large, and I have to try to find homes for some of my dog friends, but those who stay need their individual places and spaces and ….it would be easier if…

In the second scenario, I launched a complete line of custom designed pet furniture. I don’t do much of that anymore, but you see how little ideas, grow like branches of an idea tree, becoming Big Sprigs and products that help my customers.
